What we do

Six disciplines, one senior engineer.

The same person scopes the work, does the work and documents the work. Nothing gets handed down to someone learning on your environment.

01

Outsourced CIO / CTO

Fractional technology leadership for audits, strategy, governance and executive decision support.

  • Technology audit & risk review
  • IT strategy & roadmap
  • Security posture uplift
  • Vendor & cost optimisation
02

AI adoption & integration

Practical help getting AI into the business — where it genuinely pays back, and just as importantly where it does not. A fast-growing part of what we do.

  • Where AI fits your actual workflows
  • Tool selection, rollout & integration
  • Data, privacy & governance guardrails
  • Staff training & safe-use policy
03

Network, Wi-Fi & firewall

Practical network engineering for smaller businesses — secure, scalable and not over-specified.

  • Firewall selection & configuration
  • Switching & Wi-Fi optimisation
  • Segmentation & secure access
  • Site-to-site and remote VPNs
04

Backup & recovery

Architecture review and genuine restore validation — because an untested backup is a rumour.

  • Backup design review
  • Restore testing & runbooks
  • Retention & continuity guidance
  • Single-provider risk reduction
05

Apple fleet support

Senior after-hours support for macOS and iOS environments, from a small studio to a whole office.

  • Configuration & hardening
  • Endpoint management guidance
  • Troubleshooting & user support
  • Migration & onboarding
06

Connectivity & phone systems

Internet, VPN and hosted phone systems reviewed, selected and configured. We recommend and implement — we never resell.

  • NBN review & business-grade fibre
  • Failover, redundancy & VPNs
  • Hosted PBX provider comparison
  • Number porting, AU & international

Ongoing

Scheduled checks

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly oversight for teams with no dedicated IT staff. Someone competent looks at the environment on a schedule, rather than only after something has already broken.

  • Backup verification — did it actually run, and can it restore?
  • Patching and maintenance checks
  • Licensing and access reviews

Also available

Websites — new, or the one you already have

We build small business websites designed to be read by Google and quoted by AI assistants, from $440 inc GST. We also take over hosting and maintenance of sites we did not build — including large agency sites — so you have one person responsible for the whole thing.

  • Take over hosting, domains and maintenance of an existing site
  • Ongoing updates, fixes and content changes on any platform
  • New builds with domain, SSL, hosting and info@ email included
  • Structured data, robots.txt and llms.txt on every build

The delivery model

Why the good work happens at night.

Replacing a firewall, cutting over a network, migrating a server or rebuilding a backup regime all take systems offline. Doing that at 2pm on a Tuesday costs you a day of trading. Doing it at 7pm costs you nothing.

It is a deliberate model, not a limitation — but it is worth being straight about: if what you actually need is business-hours helpdesk coverage, we are not the right fit, and we will say so in the first conversation.

Delivery windows

Monday – Friday 5:30pm – 10:00pm AEST

Planned works are booked into a window you agree in advance, with a rollback position agreed before anything is touched.

Three shapes of engagement.

Option 01

Ad-hoc

Something specific needs doing or diagnosing. Charged at the published rates, with an estimate before it starts.

Option 02

Scoped project

A defined piece of work — an audit, a network rebuild, a phone system rollout — quoted as a fixed scope with agreed change windows.

Option 03

Scheduled retainer

Regular oversight on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly cadence, with 30-day payment terms available.

Questions

What clients ask first.

What is an outsourced CIO, and do I need one?

An outsourced or fractional CIO gives you executive-level technology decision-making for the handful of hours a month you actually need it, instead of a six-figure salary. If you are making decisions about security, systems or spend without anyone senior to sanity-check them — or you keep buying technology that does not quite solve the problem — that is the gap it fills.

What are System C's rates?

Remote work is $37.50 ex GST per 15-minute block, with a 15-minute minimum. Onsite is $180.00 ex GST for the first hour, then in 15-minute increments. A $50.00 ex GST call-out fee applies, waived for two or more continuous hours onsite. Work after 10:00pm is charged at 150% of the standard rate.

Why does System C only work after hours?

Because the work that matters most is disruptive. Firewall replacements, network cutovers, server migrations and backup rebuilds all take systems offline. Doing them between 5:30pm and 10:00pm or at weekends means your staff never lose a working day to it. If your main need is business-hours helpdesk coverage, we are honestly not the right fit — and we will tell you so.

Do you resell hardware, software or phone plans?

No. We recommend, select and configure, and we take no margin on anything we suggest. For hosted phone systems in particular, we compare providers and implement the one that fits — but you buy it directly, so there is no commission shaping the recommendation.

What are your payment terms?

Payment is COD, or 7 days by prior arrangement once there is trading history. 30-day terms are available for ongoing support agreements. Full terms and conditions are downloadable as a PDF from this page.

Do you offer ongoing support agreements?

Yes. Scheduled checks run weekly, fortnightly or monthly and cover backup verification, patching and maintenance checks, and licensing and access reviews. It suits businesses with no dedicated IT staff who want someone competent looking at the environment regularly rather than only when something breaks.

What areas do you cover for onsite work?

We are based in Engadine and cover the Sutherland Shire, the St George area and greater Sydney for onsite work. Remote engineering and advisory work is delivered anywhere in Australia.

Can you work alongside our existing IT provider?

Often, yes. A common engagement is an independent technology audit or second opinion — reviewing what is in place, what it costs and what is genuinely at risk — which sits alongside whoever handles day-to-day support. Because we do not resell, there is no conflict in giving you a straight assessment.

Get in touch

Start with a quick 15-minute meeting.

Tell us what you are trying to achieve and what is currently in the way. Fifteen minutes is usually enough to work out whether we are the right fit and what the next step would cost — and there is no tech talk unless you want it.
